Emergency Management Exhibition 2017

On August 23 – 24, 2017, Foreningen af Kommunale Beredskabschefer (The Association of the Danish Municipal Fire and Rescue Services) held their annual meeting in Odense Congress Center. As customary, the meeting began with the General Assembly of the Danish Emergency Management Agency, where President Jarl V. Hansen gave the Chairman’s Report. Along with the meeting there was an exhibition with 72 exhibitors, making it the largest fire and rescue exhibition in the Nordic Region, where suppliers and manufacturers of firefighting equipment presented and demonstrated the latest news within equipment and vehicles.

This year special focus was on the professional contents with scenes in the exhibition halls, used for various professional presentations on among others operational management, recruitment in a future perspective, climate certification of buildings, as well as a summit with mayors, and former ministers as speakers.

Increase in popularity of the AVK series 84 hydrant
AVK Danmark A/S was present with our entire product package within this area. Our Series 84 hydrants ”Nostalgia” and ”Niro” became increasingly popular in Denmark. They are often supplied with backflow protection, which is a shut-off device designed to efficiently secure the pipeline network from contamination from the hydrant should backflow occur. Backflow may occur from e.g. suction vehicles or sweepers connecting to the hydrants. These types are among others also characterised by having traffic safety preventing total damage of the hydrant in case of a collision.
