Flonidan wins prestigious sustainability prize

Flonidan A/S in Horsens, Denmark, was awarded the 360° prize for their work and efforts within sustainability and corporate social responsibility 21-09-2017

Flonidan A/S produces electronic gas meters and has experienced a massive growth in sales since they won an order for 1.4 million smart gas meters to a Dutch energy consortium in 2015.

The 360° PRIZE celebrates companies, who are innovative and make changes to the better – both for the society and for the company itself. And Flonidan was awarded the prize for "an innovative and sustainable product solution, which is also profitable and scalable".

Since the 2015 order, Flonidan has mapped their entire resource strategy, changed internal processes and politics, redesigned products to save materials and worked towards the use of recyclable materials.

And these efforts have contributed to growing sales and now a prestigious award.

HSE-IS coordinator Buggi Buch Widell and CEO Sten Dyrmose accepted the award on behalf of Flonidan. "In a high-volume production like ours even the slightest change has a big impact, said Buggi Widell in her presentation speech. As an example, we have managed to reduce the steel content of our gas meter with 357 grams, corresponding to a yearly reduction of more the 300 tons!"

"We have demonstrated, that even in an industry like ours it is possible to do business through responsible sourcing and production. By seeing the bigger picture and cooperating with partners and suppliers we have managed to create results in large scale and to build a brand on this philosophy. We are very proud of this prize, which reaffirms that we are heading the right way with our strategy and work." said CEO Sten Dyrmose upon receiving the award.

The 360° PRIZE is founded and presented by Danish Trade, Danish Initiative for Ethical Trading (DIEH) and Green Network.
