Advanced solutions for storage projects all over the world

A dam or reservoir is a storage structure used for retaining water, hydrocarbons, or gas. A reservoir is typically an enlarged natural or artificial lake, storage pond, or impoundment created by constructing a dam, weir, or lock across a river or stream. Alternatively, reservoirs can also be formed by excavating flat terrain and/or constructing embankments, retaining walls, or levees.

In hydropower applications, the kinetic and potential energy associated with the water head or height is utilised by turbines for power generation. Effective control and precise regulation of water flow are essential to ensure efficient power generation, safe and stable turbine operation, and compliance with legally mandated minimum environmental flow requirements.

The AVK Group’s product portfolio comprises a wide range of products for this segment, including large fabricated gates (such as radial, roller, draft chute, and weir gates), stoplogs, and various types of penstocks. The range also includes bonneted gate valves, bonneted slide gates, reservoir-specification metal seated gate valves, butterfly valves, air valves, check valves, and recoil valves. In addition, AVK offers a proven and comprehensive range of discharge control valves, including fixed cone valves (howell-bunger, hollow jet, jet dispersal, and sleeve types), submerged discharge valves, and ring needle (plunger) valves.
