AVK factories in the Anhui province in China back on track

Congratulations to our colleagues in China. Thanks to their efforts, our three factories located in the Anhui province in China are now back up running at a production capacity of 98 percent of pre-Covid-19 level. 23-03-2020

As almost all other factories in China, AVK’s Chinese factories were closed from mid-January to mid-February. During this time, orders did not stop coming in even though machines were shut down, and our colleagues therefore faced a huge backlog on their first day back. Luckily, our Chinese colleagues are hardworking and determined, and they just put on their safety masks and started working – in high spirits all the way through.

Now that our +400 colleagues are back in the factories working, we have incorporated various preventive measures to prevent the virus from reemerging. This means that factories, offices, canteen areas and shuttle buses are disinfected every single day and everybody wears masks and gloves, washes hands and gets their temperature checked twice a day. Furthermore, preventive measures during lunch time and transportation to and from work have also been taken, and on the first day back at work, the management team provided epidemic prevention training to everybody.

In addition, we are working very closely with the local authorities in the Anhui province in China to take the necessary precautions. As a preventive measure, hand sanitizer and towels have been distributed to everybody working in the Chinese factories. This was not only very well received by our hardworking Chinese colleagues, but the initiative was also praised by the mayor of Anhui and used as an example of how to take good care of employees and secure a safe return to work.

In a time where Covid-19 is setting the agenda, our Chinese colleagues have showed that there is a ray of hope and that it is indeed possible to get back to normality again.

We have already experienced the consequences of COVID-19 in China, which resulted in a complete shutdown of our production companies from mid-January to mid-February. AVK’s factories in China are now back in production and at normal capacity.
