AVK Opens New Facilities for AVK Elastomer Technology and ORBINOX America 23-09-2026

AVK marked an important milestone on 22 September with the opening of new facilities for AVK Elastomer Technology and ORBINOX America in Minden, Nevada.

The investment strengthens AVK’s presence in North America, one of the Group’s most important strategic markets. Building on American AVK’s long-standing presence in the United States since 1985, the new facilities bring manufacturing, assembly, expertise and customer support closer to customers across the region.

The facilities support the continued growth of two important AVK businesses. AVK Elastomer Technology expands the Group’s rubber manufacturing platform and local production capabilities, while ORBINOX America gains increased warehousing, assembly and customer support capacity. Together, they underline AVK’s long-term strategy of building strong local businesses close to customers and markets.

Investing in local capabilities and future growth

The new facilities reflect AVK’s ambition to combine global expertise with strong local operations. By being closer to customers, AVK Elastomer Technology and ORBINOX America can strengthen collaboration, reduce lead times and respond faster to market needs.

According to Peter Lorentzen, Chairman of AVK Elastomer Technology & CEO of AVK GUMMI, the new AVK Elastomer Technology facility creates significant opportunities for continued growth in North America.

This investment marks an important milestone in AVK GUMMI's North American growth strategy. By producing closer to the market, we strengthen our ability to supply high-quality elastomer solutions, improve responsiveness and supply security, and deepen collaboration with customers across the United States.

The new facility will support growing demand in the water, food, medical, and defence industries, strengthen American AVK's valve business, and provide a strong platform for future growth in North America.”

Strengthening ORBINOX's North American footprint

For ORBINOX, the new facility marks an important step in strengthening the company’s presence and supporting its growth ambitions in North America.

According to Joseba Azurmendi, Chairman of ORBINOX Valves International, the investment reflects the company’s confidence in the market and its commitment to serving customers locally.

North America has been a key market for Orbinox for more than four decades, and today the United States represents our largest single market. Expanding our presence on the West Coast has long been a strategic goal, given the significant opportunities in sectors such as water and mining.

With the support of the AVK Group, we have now made that ambition a reality. Establishing our presence in Nevada is particularly meaningful for us, as the state has strong historical ties to the Basque Country, where we come from. This connection, rooted in the history of Basque shepherds who settled in Nevada, reflects an important part of our joint history.
