A heartfelt thank you to HM The Queen of Denmark, Margrethe II

On Sunday, HM The Queen, Margrethe II abdicates after 52 solid years on the throne. Currently, she is the longest-serving monarch in Europe, but will now pass on the baton to her son, HRH The Crown Prince Frederik. 12-01-2024

HM The Queen has been an outstanding representative of Denmark and Danish business in her inspirational half-century on the throne.

We at AVK would like to thank HM The Queen for her remarkable effort and dedication, and wish her all the best in her imminent otium.

Royal visit to our AVK headquarters

During the years, we have experienced the privilege of working with the Danish royal family several times.

Much to our joy, HM The Queen and late HRH The Prince Consort of Denmark visited our AVK facilities in Skovby as a part of their visit to Skanderborg Municipality on 2 September 2012.

A shared passion for art and for the environment

Niels Aage Kjær, Owner of AVK shares a passion for art with HM The Queen and HRH The Prince Consort. At several of our AVK locations in Denmark you will find decorative art pieces by HRH The Prince Consort.

AVK sponsored the exhibition 'Pas de Deux Royal' at ARoS - Aarhus Art Museum, where HM The Queen and HRH The Prince Consort for the first time ever exhibited their own art together.

Also, AVK sponsors the Prince Henrik Prize, which is given as a token of honour to a contemporary and well-established poet, who with his/her work has provided a substantial contribution to Danish lyrical poetry.

Niels Aage Kjær and late HRH The Prince Consort got to know each other through WWF, where HRH The Prince Consort was president and Niels Aage became a representative.

We wish HRH The Crown Price, Frederik, and HRH The Crown Princess Mary all the best in their new endeavours as regents of Denmark.
