World Environment Day 2026: Climate Action in Practice at AVK 🌍
On World Environment Day 2026, global attention is on climate action. This year’s theme Now for Climate highlights the urgent signals the planet is sending and the actions needed to respond. For AVK, this is a relevant reminder that climate action is not only a global agenda, but also something that must be translated into practical decisions across our own operations. 05-06-2026
At AVK, this is not just a message we support. It is a direction we are actively working on every day through increased use of renewable energy and continued investment in solutions that can lower emissions from our sites. Across the Group, the transition to more renewable energy is an important part of how we strengthen our climate efforts in a practical and measurable way.
Renewable energy remains a key part of our climate strategy because energy consumption is one of the areas where we can make a tangible difference. This is especially important in countries where the public energy supply still relies heavily on fossil fuels. By increasing the share of renewable energy in our total consumption, we can reduce our carbon footprint and support a broader transition toward more resilient and lower-emission operations.
By the end of September 2025 and our financial year, 52.17% of the AVK Group’s total energy consumption came from renewable energy sources. This marks important progress and reflects the efforts taking place across our companies to integrate more renewable energy into daily operations. While there is still work ahead, the figure shows that renewable energy is already becoming a significant part of how AVK powers production and supports our broader climate ambitions, and already now we expect a higher percentage of renewable energy by the end of current financial year.
At the same time, we continue to invest in our own energy production. Installing solar cell systems across AVK companies remains an important part of equipping our manufacturing sites with renewable energy solutions that are close to where the energy is used. By the end of 2024/25, 2.67% of our total energy consumption was generated by our own installed solar cell systems, and that share continues to grow as more capacity is added across the Group.
Climate action is about turning ambition into action, step by step and site by site. For AVK, that means continuing to invest in renewable energy, scaling local solar production, and reducing emissions across our operations. World Environment Day is an opportunity to reflect on the progress already made, while also recognising the importance of maintaining momentum as we continue the transition toward a lower-carbon future.
